First few days on Weight Watchers

So I have been tracking with Weight Watchers since Friday night and I am really loving it.  As mentioned in the last post, I have done Weight Watchers on and off for years now and I have to say this is a great experience just like the other times.  Now that I am 18 I am able to use Weight Watchers online which I previously wasn't able to because I was a minor.  This new feature means I am able to track points on my phone which is so easy and convenient.  I really love it so far and I am excited to continue with this journey of becoming healthier.  With Weight Watchers you can eat anything you want as long as you track it and they key to eating anything you want is portion control.  I have rarely felt hungry over the last few days.  If I did have craving I drink 22 oz of water in my Brita refillable filtered water bottle and wait for the craving to pass.  Anyways this was just a small update on how I am doing so far and there will be more updates throughout the week!!

Weight Watchers

So about an hour ago I signed up for Weight Watchers.  Like I said in a recent post I have basically maintained my weight while at school which is not bad but it's also not good either.  I have decided to sign up for Weight Watchers online to motivate me especially during the month that I will be spending at home.  I just want to finally be happy with myself.  I am so sick of feeling like crap about my body and I feel this especially during this time of year.  The feeling comes creeping back every year.  The feeling that I am describing is the feeling that yet another year has gone past and I am still overweight.  The holiday season really just drives that home.  I hate looking at pictures and comparing them to years past because all I desperately want is to lose weight but unfortunately I do the exact opposite.  So today December 6, 2013 I am going to hopefully not feel that feeling because my goal is lose at least ten pounds by Christmas.  I have  a lot of weight to lose and from my past Weight Watchers experience the first week is the week where you see the biggest amount of weight loss because your body is going through so many changes.  I have full confidence in myself that I can accomplish this goal that I have set for myself!  They automatically give you your first goal so on my profile on my account my first goal to reach for myself is to lose 14 pounds and I think I can accomplish this before New Years.  Again another reason why this time of year really drives home the feeling is because gym membership advertisements are everywhere you look it's like you can't escape them.

Side note: if any of you have ever done Weight Watchers before then you will know how the points system works but for those of you who don't i'll briefly explain it.  Basically, you are given a certain amount of points per day and every food has a certain point value.  You are supposed to write down the foods you eat throughout the day and keep them within the daily point allowance.  I get 45 points of day because of my age, height and weight.  The ONLY thing I had to eat today was a 12 inch sub from the food court and it was 30 points.  I couldn't even believe it.  Needless to say I will not be having that for a while or at least the 12 inch version.

I will hopefully be posting more updates on my Weight Watchers experience and also how I am managing finals which are coming up very soon.

What to get the person who is impossible to shop for?

So a lot of YouTubers have holiday gift guides that they put out every year with gift suggestions that they recommend for different people in your life.  Well the person in my life that is the most difficult to buy for is my mom.  She wears suits to work every day and she usually gets Macy's gift cards for her birthday and Christmas so she gets one or two new suits a year.  When she doesn't wear suits, she is wearing something from Ann Taylor Loft, again she usually gets gift cards from someone else in the family.  I used to get her jewelry but she never wore it.  So for the past couple of years I have figured out a system and I would like to share it with you and maybe it will help you shop for someone this holiday season.  I would notice throughout the year what she would borrow of mine the most.  Two years ago it was my perfume, she would come into my room every single day and use my perfume.  I didn't have a ton of money so my dad bought it for her.  This year she would always borrows my Tweezerman tweezers so I am going to get her one of her own.  I am also going to get her an umbrella from my bookstore because she actually asked for that for Christmas.  Because she borrows my tweezers all the time I know they will be something she will use and something she will like.  I hope this is helpful for some of you having trouble figuring out what to get someone for the holidays.

Finals

I have been so bad about keeping up with this but these few weeks have been absolute insanity!!  I hope everyone's holidays are going well.  I had a great Thanksgiving filled with family and of course food!!  I didn't over stuff myself on Thanksgiving, I just ate until I was barely full.  I am very nervous about the next few weeks though because I have finals coming up and I am nervous my sleep schedule will just be thrown completely to wayside.  The library at my school will open 24 hours a day during the time of finals and they have local business donate food for us.  It is a great service but again it's a trap for unhealthy habits.  I am in the honors college at my University and the head of the honors college recently put out an email of good habits to have during finals times in order to be successful.  I am going to try and implement some of those and see how it works out.  I am going to try and work out during finals week too because that will release endorphins and also motivate me to study.

I am also worried about going home for a month.  I go back in 15 days which is crazy.  I can honestly say the first semester of my freshman year at college has flown by.  I am happy though that I have pretty much maintained my weight which is not what I wanted entirely because I wanted to lose weight but it is better than gaining.  I am happy to say that I will not fall to the freshman 15!!  I just don't want to go home and stay up until two every night and sleep until 12.  I am going to try and get to sleep at reasonable hours most nights and wake up around 9 or 10 and just relax.  I am also going to work over break.  I am strapped for cash and I have books and general expenses coming right around the corner next semester.  I would like to get a job at school maybe somewhere in the mall.  I intended on getting a job as soon as I got to school but there was a lot of adjusting that needed to take place before I got a job.  Hopefully businesses will still be hiring even after the holiday season.  Anyway this has been a very long post but I had a free few minutes and felt I should get this up.  More to come in the near distant future.
